Our Domestic Rail Security Policy team is responsible for setting security regulations on behalf of the Secretary of State to protect the domestic rail networks against acts of violence (terrorism).

As Senior Policy Adviser, you will have the lead responsibility for setting and developing security policy and regulation, as well as providing security advice on domestic national (heavy) rail security.

In this role, you will lead on maintaining, developing and ensuring that our security regulations remain appropriate for the threats to the national rail networks. You will have extensive liaison with industry and government partners as well as colleagues across Department for Transport (DfT).

This role requires some domestic travel within Great Britain. In the event of a terrorist attack or other emergency, you may be required to be involved in the department’s incident response, including working outside normal business hours and from our London office.
