Warwick, United Kingdom National Gas Full time

**About the role**:
Great Britain's electricity system is undergoing an ambitious, exciting and vital transformation. Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system, one that protects the planet and serves generations to come.

The philosophy of the EMR team is to provide team members with the opportunity to develop a wide range of skill sets across all aspects of our business. We aim to develop team members who will have areas of primary focus and expertise but who will also be able to develop an appreciation of other aspects of the business and so will get involved in other areas of the business as the opportunities arise.

As a EMR Team Lead, you will be responsible for being the team leader of a team of EMR analyst(s) who manage key commercial relationships with participants including supporting them though their various obligations, lead on the operation, and development of new and innovative improvements and lead on interactions with the government, Ofgem and Delivery Partners and develop effective relationships with stakeholders and auction participants.

If you are excited about change and comfortable with shaping and delivering fast-paced projects, if you care about making our customers and stakeholders’ experience of working with the ESO a great experience, and if you believe that good communication, collaboration and inquisitiveness drive better results, then please reach out We would love to hear from you.
- This role can be based from our Warwick office, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.**About us**:
Our mission is to facilitate the decarbonisation of Great Britain’s energy network and ensure the delivery of reliable, affordable, and green electricity for consumers. We work with stakeholders across the whole energy industry to plan for future network needs, using insight to make sure we can balance the system today and find opportunities to transform the way it operates tomorrow.

**Becoming the National Energy System Operator**
- In Summer of 2024, the ESO will transition to becoming the National Energy System Operator, or NESO for short. Previously denoted as the Future System Operator (or FSO), the new National Energy System Operator will be the independent body responsible for planning Great Britain’s electricity and gas networks and operating the electricity system.- The ESO, including all of its existing roles, will be at the heart of the new National Energy System Operator. As NESO, we will build on our existing roles, capabilities, and ways of working significantly to create an organisation the energy system and its users’ need. Our new capabilities will enable us to look across vectors, including electricity, natural gas and hydrogen, and crucially consider the trade-offs between them.- The organisation will be set up as a public corporation with its own Board of independent directors, with complete operational independence from government, the regulator and any and all commercial interest. As the ESO are today, NESO will be licenced and regulated by Ofgem through price control agreements and obligated to identify optimal solutions to system operations and planning in the most sustainable, affordable and secure way for all.- The time to deliver is now. As part of our team, you won’t just be touching the lives of almost everyone in Great Britain - you’ll be shaping the way we use and consume energy for generations to come.**Key Accountabilities**:

- Coach, support and lead a team of analyst(s) to deliver the teams business objectives.
- Support the preparation and running of Prequalification, Dispute and Agreement activities and managing own key responsibilities consistent with role level throughout.
- Manage complex issues and queries from Industry applicants and develop sound knowledge and understanding of the Capacity Market and Contracts for Difference, developing and producing guidance and delivering training for industry and EMR team.
- Lead on specific process areas, become the expert for these areas, supporting the team and the customers with queries, issues and potential Rule changes as required.
- Manage key processes to enable CM/CfD Auctions to be run efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and utilise appropriate KPI monitoring and reporting across relevant processes.
- Develop a sound knowledge of Rules and Regulations requirements on EMR, guiding existing and potential applicants through the sometimes-complex regulations that govern the operation of the CM and CfD.
- Improve and manage relationships with applicants and delivery partners coordinating work across ESO Markets and within EMR.
- Support other EMR teams where the business requires.
- Developing and managing great internal and external relationships and representing National Grid ESO at external meetings, industry-wide presentations or bi-lateral discussions.
