The Service delivers comprehensive mental health assessments, brief intervention, care planning and signposting/referral for patients who present to the A&E department or who have been admitted to hospital. As the post holder, you will be working as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Emergency Department and also on the hospital wards. Your role will involve making first contact with patients referred to the service within the emergency department, supporting those awaiting assessment in the streaming area, conducting reviews of patients admitted onto wards, providing emotional support and psychosocial interventions to those patients referred to the Mental Health Liaison Service, assisting the qualified practitioners in the assessment of patient’s and also providing liaison to a wide variety of community services.
