**The Role**:
We have an opportunity for a Domestic Assistant, providing a domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire, (NHSL) premises through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a ‘safe’ and welcoming environment and meet the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards. You will also work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

**What we'll need you to bring**:

- Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures
- Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- The ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
- Be flexible and able to work varied shifts
- Be able to work under pressure

You will be willing to:

- Undertake on the job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked, to achieve full competency across a range of duties
- Undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management of Violence & Aggression (PAMOVA) training level 1 and level 2, if identified following an appropriate risk assessment
- Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
- Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
- Undertake and complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.

**It would be great if you also have**:

- A recognised SVQ or equivalent relevant qualification
- Experience working within a domestic services/cleaning environment
- Knowledge of systems and processes eg HAI; Manual Handling; Management of Aggression; Infection Control; COSHH; Fire Safety
- Used a range of electrical cleaning equipment

**Contract type**:
Permanent

Part Time

17.5 hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

**Location and Working Pattern**:
This role will be based in Stonehouse Hospital.
