Derby, United Kingdom Love4Life Full time

**Love4Life is about empowering young people aged 11-18 to build confidence and make positive choices in their health & relationships.**

As a Love4Life Youth Worker you will play a crucial role on the front line of our services. You will support and guide young people through both group work and 121 mentoring, giving them the support and tools they need to improve their confidence and self-esteem. You will work in both community and school settings to deliver these sessions, sometimes independently and sometimes alongside other Love4Life staff, using your creativity and understanding of young people to deliver sessions in an engaging way.

In addition to delivery work, you will also be responsible for assisting in establishing new delivery venues, assessing referrals, developing resources and plans for sessions and strengthening our relationships with schools and key contacts in the community.

Love4Life takes our responsibility to safeguard the young people we work with very seriously. It is central to our culture and it is essential that you share this commitment. Safeguarding is the responsibility of all staff at our organisation and is reflected in our values, policies and procedures.

Love4Life is a small charity and our team works closely together on every challenge. You will need to be a team player and an open and honest communicator, who is willing to have a go at everything. In return, we offer a supportive, welcoming and flexible work environment that values everyone’s contribution and encourages people to develop and grow.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Delivering 121 mentoring and group support sessions with Love4Life young people.
- Planning and resourcing these sessions on themes such as sexual health, relationships, body image, gender & identity, online safety & mental wellbeing.
- Assessing new referrals for support.
- Building relationships with young people and their parent/guardian to encourage continued attendance at our services and to help them feel comfortable exploring these issues.
- Managing group behaviour and providing conflict resolution when required, including upholding our code of conduct for young people.
- Maintaining detailed records of our delivery, including session notes and young people records, and inputting data for purposes of funding and progression tracking.
- Upholding our safeguarding policy and procedures, handling disclosures and following up concerns with a designated safeguarding officer. Young person safety is always paramount.
- Undertaking outreach activities to increase awareness of our services.
- Supporting charity-wide events and marketing/fundraising efforts when needed.
- Working flexibility and effectively as part of the overall Love4Life team, supporting other locations and functions as required, and contributing to an overall high level of service.
- Engaging with all necessary training and continuous professional development (CPD) for the role.

**Location**

This role is home based but will also require regular travel across Deby City to community and school venues. Expenses will be paid for travel.

**Hours**

Your contract will be 37.5hrs per week, working 9-5 Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. Occasional work may be required outside of these hours and we operate a generous TOIL (Time Off In Lieu) policy.

**Salary & Benefits**

£23,400 per annum.

Salary is reviewed annually and any increase is based on individual contribution and overall charity performance.

All employees of Love4Life receive 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays. We are also closed between Christmas and New Year, giving 3 days of additional leave.
