General duties will include chaperoning and advising patients during procedures, consultations and treatments.

Co-ordinating clinics.

Assisting the medical team during treatments and procedures.

Preparing equipment for cystoscopy,Laser, biopsy of prostate.

Performing flow rates,

Trial without catheter including catheterisation

House-keeping duties

Maintaining stock levels

Acting as a co-ordinator on the arrival of patients to the department

Liaising with other wards and departments, as required.

We require a motivated, reliable, enthusiastic person who will be sensitive and caring

Have good numeracy, literacy and IT skills

Own Transport an advantage.

This post is to work in Urology in all sites as needed.

Clinical.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in the assessment of health care needs.
- Assist the registered Nurse in the evaluation of care and completion of patient documents.
- Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated and records maintained.
- Involve patients and carers/relatives in the delivery of care.
- Provide reassurance support to patients and carers/family.
- Work collaboratively with others in the department to ensure that patients’ needs are met.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
- Provide escort and transfer for patients, with low dependency, as directed.
- Prepare and set up clinics and procedure rooms, including trays and trolleys, treatment and examination rooms.
- Tidy and clean rooms and equipment as directed.
- Chaperone patients when required.
- Undertake venepuncture as required following appropriate training.
- Undertake flow rates and bladder scanning
- During procedures, provide assistance to medical and nursing staff when requested.
- Following appropriate training undertake catheterisation, both male and female.

Clerical
- Contribute to the development of services.
- Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources.
- Liaise closely with medical and nursing staff, and associated departments, to ensure that clinics and clinical sessions are conducted effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure relevant reports and results are available for the consultation.
- Carry out post-consultation clerical duties when directed, such as making follow-up appointments and arranging patient transport.
- At the conclusion of the clinic, ensure that all case notes etc., are returned to the appropriate department.
- Answer the telephone, take messages and pass onto the appropriate person.
- Order medical and non-medical stock, maintaining a cost-effective approach.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order, arranging repair when necessary.
- Ensure the tidiness and cleanliness of all clinical rooms, examination rooms, store cupboards and sub-waiting areas.
