**About Our Client**:
Our client is a highly respected public sector entity in the heart of Edinburgh. Employing over 5000 individuals, this organisation is dedicated to providing essential services and maintaining a stable, secure environment for its employees. As a significant contributor to the Scottish Prison Service, the entity takes pride in its commitment to fairness, transparency, and integrity.

My client will be moving to a HR new operating model and fully managed payroll service designed to deliver a more streamlined, consistent, and effective HR service, in Autumn this year. You will join the payroll team at this exciting stage of our evolution to grow payroll capability to enable our transformation. A revision to our existing semi-managed payroll service arrangement offers the chance to automate high volume transactions that take considerable time and effort. This will create the capacity that will allow the team to better monitor and manage controls, improve access to accurate and meaningful pay information, and focus on raising awareness of benefits and pensions issues.

**The Successful Applicant**:
A successful Payroll Manager should have:

- A strong academic background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior payroll position, preferably within the public sector.
- Excellent knowledge of payroll systems and legislation.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
