This post holder will be involved in all aspects of administration of the Freedom Of Information Act process supported by FOIA Practitioners within the Information Governance Team. The post holder will also work as part of a small team delivering against Data Protection legislation for the provision of personal records upon request to a mandated time period. This covers both physical and electronic records of patients and staff alike. The post holder will work with a number of clinical and non clinical IT systems which they will be trained to use.

To manage requests made under Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations to ensure the Trust is legislatively compliant.

To record all activity for FOI/EIR on Datix to ensure we have a well-documented chronology of the requests from their acknowledgment to formal written response.

To join the team to support the delivery of in excess of 300 disclosure requests a month, including Health Records and Human Resources files

To answer calls from requestors to assist with their enquires.

We have a team of staff working towards delivering requests for information under UK Data Protection Laws and under the Freedom of Information Act.

It is a busy role but the team are a good natured group of individuals who are friendly and supportive.

We will support some flexibility of working patterns which could include a 4 day week with compressed hours or a 9 day fortnight (slightly longer shifts to support this)
- To have excellent organisational ability and integrity, with a consistently professional and confidential approach, and the ability to multi task.
- To work on own initiative to prioritise, assist with the management and allocation of the administrative workload of the department within clearly defined policies and procedures, but understands when to escalate for assistance.
- To process correspondence including sensitive, contentious and confidential information.
- To manage requests made under Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations to ensure the Trust is legislatively compliant.
- To record all activity for FOI/EIR on Datix to ensure we have a well-documented chronology of the requests from their acknowledgment to formal written response.
- To undertake all tasks in line with the Trust's policies and procedures.
- To maintain patient and staff confidentiality and data protection at all times.
- Other duties as may be reasonably required by the team
