Home-Start in Suffolk offers a unique service. We recruit and train volunteers, to visit families at home, provide telephone support or support our regular group activities, offering them informal, friendly and confidential support. The families we help have at least one child under 12.

To help give children the best possible start in life, Home-Start supports parents as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationship with their children and widen their links with the local community.

We have a responsibility to give our supported families a voice, highlighting the challenges they are facing and telling their stories in the right way, showing compassion and empathy. We are responsible for celebrating the amazing work of our volunteers and the incredible work they do to support families

We must continue to promote the charity and engage with local businesses, securing sponsorships and hosting fundraising events and activities that will ensure the continued growth in fundraising revenue.

Our recent strategic plan has placed a greater emphasis on the generation of unrestricted income, in line with improving the scope of organisations that we partner with.

Reporting to the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager you will help diversify our income sources to enable our charity to continue its growth and will be responsible for leading and supporting a range of fundraising and marketing activities hosted by Home-Start in Suffolk. This is a position that requires a self-motivated team member with a dynamic and hands-on approach.

**Duties & Responsibilities - General**

- Represent Home-Start in Suffolk positively and effectively in all dealings with internal colleagues, and external partners
- Comply with all policies and procedures, with reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety and equality and diversity to ensure all activities are accessible
- Promoting effective collaborative teamwork

**Duties and responsibilities - Specific**
- Successfully support the development and delivery of the Fundraising Strategy
- Provide the successful delivery of our fundraising streams which include:

- Appeals
- Events
- Legacy and major giving
- Individual and regular giving
- Community Fundraising
- Donor Engagement, acquisition, and retention
- To contribute to Home-Start in Suffolk’s communications - electronic newsletters, fundraising pack, website, and social media - in collaboration with the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager
- To create leaflets and posters for events and activities using Home-Start branding
- Keep abreast of local and national marketing campaigns and resources and use in content creation and across all channels
- Write press releases for significant news stories, fundraising events or campaigns and liaise with the press to secure press coverage locally
- To support the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager with annual planning and forecasting
- To take an active role in organising and coordinating fundraising events and activities - including virtual/digital, physical events and community initiatives across Suffolk
- To support external fundraisers and fundraising volunteers with their fundraising ideas and activities
- To represent the charity at events and when meeting supporters, as required
- To provide general administrative support to the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager
- To travel to meetings and events throughout Suffolk
- To occasionally work unsociable hours e.g. attending events and meetings during the evening or weekend
- Other duties that may from time to time, be necessary and compatible with the nature and grade of the post

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £11,432.00 per year

Expected hours: 18 per week
