Responsibilities
- Build a detailed understanding of all ActivLives services and projects to be able to manage the brand and ensure consistent communication of the organisation’s mission and values across all channels and ensure that the integrity of the brand is maintained and promoted at all times.
- Lead on the development and design of promotional material both digital and print for all elements of the organisation including photographs, videos, editing films etc to support content for the Website, Facebook, Instagram, Linked-in pages Newsletter, AGM, Annual Report and funders reports etc.
- Working closely with the CEO and lead staff, develop and oversee the delivery of a ‘corporate’ communication strategy to build the organisation’s brand and reputation, including writing and editing effective copy.
- Build networks with health / social care professionals, local authority communications teams and other charity organisations etc to promote ActivLives services and projects through social marketing campaigns, activities and support opportunities.
- Implement systems and procedures to manage staff requests for new or updated publicity material, manage print production including design, content, proofing, print runs and distribution of all publications, leaflets, brochures and publicity material.
- Manage and update the Website, ensuring it is accessible, easy to navigate and provides the necessary information for professionals and people using the services.
- Ensure the organisation’s information is up to date internally on the website, Instagram, X etc and externally, such as Suffolk County Council’s InfoLink database, CONNECT Newsletter and other organisations’ information systems / websites or networks.
- Create and maintain a robust relationship with the Media, social media networks in key areas, stakeholders and sponsors to promote the organisation’s image, increase reach and develop opportunities that could generate new income streams e.g. Charity of the Year / fundraising events or opportunities.
- Monitor and provide reports on web, marketing and social media analytics, ensuring effective online marketing and advertising opportunities are utilised.
- Ensure that digital marketing content aligns with the company’s brand identity and message.
- Working closely with the CEO / lead staff, ensure the full range of ActivLives’ promotional material is available for internal / external events and, when required, attend conferences, health events and exhibitions, representing and promoting the organisation’s work.
- Ensure all donors / sponsors are promptly thanked within standards set for response times.

Person Specification
- Degree or NVQ 4 in Marketing, Media, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Proven experience in public relations or communications role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Good understanding of website management

With the support of work colleagues and Trustees, the post holder will help develop the Marketing and Communications Strategy for ActivLives. An Action Plan will be developed to improve communications internally and externally; foster and develop external relationships with key stakeholders, corporates and potential supporters and donors in order to generate new income streams; define and drive the brand to a range of different stakeholders and audiences, tailoring messaging and developing marketing campaigns and activity.

Working closely with the CEO and lead staff, the post holder will research and develop creative and exciting ways to promote the organisation’s services, projects, presence and brand awareness, through local media contacts, social media, website, Newsletter, Timetable, posters / flyers and build relationships with individuals in local media, radio and TV, other charities, organisations and local business.

The postholder will lead on the development and design of promotional material, both digital and print, for all elements of the organisation, liaising with key staff and keeping abreast of new developments and projects across the Charity; implementing systems and procedures to manage, review and update digital and print production - including design and content of website and social media, and design, content, proofing, print runs and distribution of all publications, leaflets, brochures and publicity material.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in public relations
