Sharpsmart are currently recruiting for a Team Leader position, to be based at our Rainham Facility. The Team Leader role is central to our Plant Operations, supporting our Management Teams and motivating the team on the Plant. The role will lead a small team, whilst working hands on alongside them.

As a team leader, you will be responsible for supervising a diverse and talented operations team. Your primary goal is to properly organise staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the day. Your position will also support the Plant supervisor in directing, performance managing, training, and assisting production employees on your shift.

**Your role will involve**:

- Accountable for ensuring the shift staff follow all work instructions, policies, and procedures including compliance and safety to ensure the best possible quality products and service provision
- Complete Shift handover duties, shift logs and all other routine paperwork
- Support the Plant Supervisor with Daily metric huddle meeting to ensure production targets are communicated and maintained
- Performs routine quality audit checks and spot checks on containers and transporters
- Create and offer solutions to troubleshoot and solve operational inefficiencies
- Maintain record of machine performance, identify trends to maximise efficiency and report performance to Plant Supervisor and the onsite Maintenance Technician
- Engage in effective communication across teams, departments, and organisation by using Sharpsmart communication systems and platforms
- Motivate and maintain a productive, professional, and customer-service oriented team
- Ensure compliance with necessary safety procedures (weekly training of workplace, health and safety)
- Promote aa positive and safe working environment such as maintenance of machinery, cleanliness of workstations and plant floor, and operating areas free of clutter, debris, or other hazard.

**What are we looking for?**
- 3+ years plant/warehouse leadership experience (or relatable experience)
- Experience within Operational & Fast paced environment
- Knowledge of working towards targets/KPIs
- Proven experience in improving processes and procedures
- Occasionally working in confined spaces; extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing
