Our market offers seven vendors serving up a variety of tasty street food to be enjoyed in the original market hall or up on the mezzanine dining space. In the bar area, we have an abundant drinks menu to enjoy ‘til late and here you’ll find our stage, showcasing live music throughout the weekend, plus live sports streaming across multiple screens

Whether it's family hangouts, fun with friends, doggy days, celebrations or date nights, the Market is a space for everyone to eat, meet and play.

**Ormskirk Market is looking to hire a Bar Supervisor** to work side-by-side with our Bar Manager and the Ormskirk Market team to help us deliver memorable experiences across all areas of the Market.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day bar operations. Your main focus is to drive the business forward and bring our drinks offering and bar service to life by engaging and leading the rest of the team. You will be responsible for maintaining a motivated team and be completely focused on driving sales, brand standards and speed of service.

This is a part-time position predominantly 4 days out of 7 including weekends. Working a minimum of 20 hours per work up to 40.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead a team of bar staff by example, pitching into help with drink mixing or service where necessary.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers and continually monitor how we can improve guest experience.
- Ensure drinks service is consistent and high quality from the team.
- Handle customer feedback and provide adequate solutions to customer complaints.
- Oversee the cleanliness of staff and the physical bar area, paying attention to possible health hazards and regulation violations.
- Manage inventory of beverages to ensure adequate stock.
- Create a positive work environment for staff, incentivising performance and encouraging their career development.
- Communicate and share knowledge with your team and other departments.
- Liaise with the GM about preventative maintenance of the department.
- Positively promote sales awareness within the department and maximize sales opportunities.
- Produce a sales activity management report daily, weekly, and monthly.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Bar Supervisor/Manager in a Restaurant and Cocktail Bar.
- Motivational leadership skills.
- Knowledge and awareness of the Food and Beverage Operation.
- Health and Safety awareness.
- Motivational attitude to make positive and constructive input to the team.
- Flexible and adapts quickly and positively to new situations.
- Thinks ahead and develops contingencies.
- Motivates and inspires their team to perform and ensure goals are achieved.
- Supports, develops, and coaches others.
- Organized and uses a systematic approach.
- Manages time and resources effectively.
- Meets deadlines and delivers agreed objectives by prioritizing and managing tasks.
- Has a positive profile through networking and developing positive working relationships.
- Strong Beverage and Cocktail knowledge.
- Good knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft packages.
- HR awareness and confidence in dealing with investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.
- Knowledge and experience with managing rotas and ordering systems.
