Aberystwyth, United Kingdom Hywel Dda University Health Board Full time

Are you someone with a strong desire to influence and lead on the delivery of mental health support to children and young people?

An opportunity has arisen within Specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (S-CAMHS) to lead our Ceredigion Primary Mental Health team. This will involve the continued development of our dynamic multidisciplinary mental health service within Hywel Dda UHB.

This band 7 post is now open to General, Paediatric and School nurses along with Mental Health Nurses and Allied Professionals to join us in preventing and intervening early with mental health needs and building resilience among children and young people in Ceredigion.

This could be a fantastic career move that brings with it a lifestyle changing opportunity to work in beautiful West Wales and experience the benefits of rural life and beautiful sweeping coastline.

The Ceredigion Primary Mental Health team combines two key functions: firstly, providing timely assessments and interventions to children and adolescents with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in line with the Mental Health Measures 2010, and secondly, that of providing psychologically informed consultation, training and support to education professionals in schools as part of our Schools in-Reach offer.

This role requires a passion for leading, supervising and managing others in delivering mental health and emotional wellbeing support to children and families as well as education staff.

The team lead will coordinate and ensure the delivery of the two key functions of the team: that of timely assessments and brief interventions under the Mental Health Measures Part 1, and in the delivery of advice, consultations and training to education providers in in Ceredigion by our practitioners.

Support practitioners individually and as a team to ensure timely, high-quality and effective care.

Build and maintain relationships within S-CAMHS, with school leadership teams and local agency leaders to ensure a robust service delivery.

As we progress our service improvement program we see these leadership roles as central to transform the way we provide support and treatment for children / young people and families.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly as part of a team to ensure excellent delivery of service provision across S-CAMHS, including working weekends where required to ensure accessibility and continuity of service delivery.

The role is full time, although part time hours will be considered and will involve providing duty support on a rota basis to the wider S-CAMH Service.
