**Our client is a renowned, global energy & commodity trading group, with offices worldwide.**

This is an exciting opportunity for a Demurrage specialist to join our client’s Logistics team reporting to the Head of Logistics. This is a team of around 20 employees spread across London, Singapore and the US, with a tight-knit atmosphere and fantastic opportunity to learn and grow with the regular interaction with the Trading, Technology, Accounting and Documents/Settlements teams. This is a fantastic role for an individual who is interested in a career in the commodities industry.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Creating/reviewing laytime calculations
- Following up on all claims to the earliest resolution
- Reporting and providing analysis on claims completed/in progress to highlight ports/external counterparties and our demurrage liabilities
- Reviewing sales/purchase contracts and charterparties to highlight demurrage risks
- Develop relationships with external counterparties to make resolution of calculations a smooth process
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities to develop over time.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Proven experience in a similar role with a knowledge of shipping practice and laytime
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with a global team
- A capable, enthusiastic individual who is a self-starter, able to work under pressure and comfortable with taking initiative
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
- Self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively with a global team.
