**About The Job** Salary**: £26,446 to £29,174 per annum
**Working Pattern**: Full-time (37 hours per week)
**Contract Length**:Permanent
**Location**: County Hall Chichester with the requirement to travel countywide and hybrid working.

Join us as a Contracts Officer working across our Adults Services and Health directorate and be a part of a strong and dynamic team of individuals looking to make a difference for some of the most vulnerable residents.

**As a Contracts Officer, you will**:

- Be part of the team that will ensure that good quality, affordable care is available for all our residents.
- Work closely with a wide range of partners, including adult social care providers and social care teams. Assist in developing provider relationships to support compliance and good quality care provision within the Adult Social Care market in West Sussex.
- Be responsible for a portfolio of contracts to solve problems and issues as they arise e.g. renegotiation of contract terms or issues surrounding delivery of the contract.
- Share good practice and support providers to understand terms and processes, e.g. around regulatory care standards and requirement set out by government regulations and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
- Ensure the data, insight on the Adult Social Care market and information relating to low value contracts that we maintain is reliable and up-to-date.

**Experience and Skills** Key Skills**:

- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills in order to understand complex written information, contracts and to check statistical financial information and other documents.
- Ability to present information clearly, concisely, accurately and in ways that promote understanding, either verbally or in written / electronic form, for example when producing a tender.
- Good analytical skills in order to interpret complex contract / financial information and the ability to organise and plan and meet set targets, for example for timely distribution of tenders.
- Developed communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with a range of people and create and maintain effective working relationships. Including the ability to advise and guide others to understand technical information and influence them to make sound decisions.
- Developed negotiation skills in order to work with providers to achieve improvements in contract terms.

**Qualifications and/or experience**:

- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating that level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience of managing contracts for effective results ensuring best value and optimum service levels are maintained.
- Experience of working within office systems / practices and providing support to clients.
- Advanced theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of contracts tender and management including an understanding of the financial and legal frameworks governing contract management.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office for word processing, analysing data, creating and developing workflows or electronic presentations.
