We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual into the role of Administrative and Performance Team Leader. You will use your proven leadership skills to provide operational day to day management of the Administrative function within North West Anglia NHS FT (NWAFT) Pathology Services. The friendly and experienced Administrative team includes a Performance Coordinator, Senior Medical Secretaries, Medical Secretaries and Secretarial Assistants. The team provide a diverse range of administrative services to all areas of the Pathology Service. NWAFT Pathology has staff working at the Huntingdon, Peterborough and Stamford sites, although the Administrative team are primarily located at Peterborough.

This role will provide PA duties to the Pathology Services Manager and Associate Divisional Director (Pathology). Support will also be provided to service improvement projects when required.

To be the team leader of the administration function for the Pathology department, providing a high quality and comprehensive administrative service to the leadership team and wider staff group staff. To take responsibility for supervising a team of administrators and take operational responsibility for them and for the allocation of their work.

Act as the Personal Assistant (PA) to the Associate Divisional Director (ADD) and Pathology Services Manager (PSM) and provide support for members of the pathology leadership team. To deliver project admin support to service improvements when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete all associated tasks consummate with a PA role to both the Assistant Divisional Director and Pathology Services Manager where required.
- The post holder will be responsible for working with the Pathology Services Manager, coordinating all associated administrative tasks for the department.
- To provide leadership and manage a team of administrative staff including undertaking appraisals, supervision, training and development of Band 2, 3 and Band 4 staff.
- To lead and manage HR processes, including recruitment and sickness management, in line with trust processes and policies for all administrative staff.
- The post holder will support Service and Team Managers by implementing guidelines and protocols for administration services. Setting up and developing systems, processes and procedures to support the efficient and effective management of resources against agreed financial and activity targets.
- Provide high quality project support all for identified service initiatives, including assisting in administration support for the development of service/cost improvement plans (SIPs/CIPs), investment appraisals and the Pathology strategy.
- Collaborate with other admin functions within FISS, where appropriate, to share best practice and support Divisional objectives.
- Support services in the collation and presentation of key performance reporting metrics that enable accurate forecasting of performance against key financial, service and quality targets, standards and performance indicators.
- Monitor workforce information reports to ensure early warnings are escalated so that targets are achieved e.g. mandatory training compliance. Providing appropriate workforce reports as required.
- Develop systems to enable forward planning and cost savings.
- Support services in highlighting areas of variance and opportunities to improve performance and proactively seek and utilise benchmarking data and other internal/external resources, to compare service targets and other areas of poor performance, under-achievement and risk.
