Estates Officer
We are looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable team player to lead minor projects and join our highly enthusiastic and motivated Estates team.
Will you support us to achieve our vision of becoming “the best Estates Team in the UK, providing an exceptional and safe environment for everyone, delivered by empowered staff who drive positive change throughout the NHS”?
Choosing a career in the Estates Department will open many doors for you. We will invest in your future development to continue “growing our own”, which may lead you to more senior positions within our Team or a more diversified skillset. The RUH has access to many training channels and we actively encourage you to participle in continued professional development. We also work very closely with other NHS Trusts, and there will be an opportunity to share your skills and learn skills from others.
Working for the NHS offers the benefits of job security, above-average leave allowances and pensions and great career opportunities. We also consider requests for flexible working and pre-agreed working from home commensurate with the job role.
Our Estates department is fast-paced and exciting, with new challenges and opportunities arising every day. As Estates Officer (Small Works) you will support the Estates Department with the management and delivery of minor projects for the enhancement, refurbishment and improvement of hospital facilities across the Trust. You will be at the forefront of the department and so your work will play a major role in demonstrating the contribution of the department to the organisation.
You will have the day-to-day responsibility of managing, coordinating, and undertaking minor projects, ensuring that we are providing an efficient, reliable and patient-focused service to the Trust. You will need to possess strong leadership traits, be flexible, calm under pressure and have excellent communication skills to effectively manage the expectations of staff from all areas of the Trust and contractor resource.
As post holder, you will be required to be the first point of contact for Small Works and will need to be able to manage competing priorities, inevitable distractions and unpredictable work patterns due to the operational nature of the role.
The success of the post holder will be judged on the best value, quality and throughput possible. The post holder is expected to work collaboratively with other members of the Trust gathering feedback, and continuously improving the Small Works function to our customer requirements.
At the RUH we’re proud to put people at the heart of what we do, working together as one team to make a difference for our patients, each other, and our community. No matter what your role is, we value everyone’s contribution in supporting the exceptional, person-centred care we pride ourselves on.
We are committed to creating a compassionate and inclusive environment. This can be seen in our growing community of staff networks - celebrating successes and creating opportunities to listen and learn. We value our differences, champion kindness and civility, and truly believe that diversity makes us stronger.
A culture of learning, developing and innovating is the thread that runs throughout our whole organisation. We want to support you to thrive, taking your career to its full potential.
We value staff wellbeing, with a well-established programme of support. We believe in a holistic approach spanning all aspects of living a healthy life, including physical, emotional, spiritual and financial wellbeing. We’ve even got a pool
