This is an exciting opportunity for a Ward Receptionist to join a friendly and hardworking team that are dedicated to the delivery of high quality safe care. The post is based on the new Transition of Care Unit (TOCU), based at Nottingham University Hospital, Queens Medical Centre Campus. You will be required to work a roster covering a 7 day service, and shifts covering 7am until 7pm.

Working as part of a team the post holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive administrative support in a busy and demanding environment to the Transfer of care service.

As the Ward Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors when entering the ward so a friendly, welcoming smile and excellent communication skills are essential.

As a caring and positive person, you will need to be able to work as part of an established team, have the ability to work flexibly and be committed to ensuring the smooth running of reception.

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, content with working in a busy environment with the ability to work under pressure and who has good time management skills.

You must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. It is essential that you act professionally at all times and promote the Trust's values & behaviours.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist position on the Transition of Care unit based at The Queens Medical Centre campus..

You will have good organisational skills and an excellent telephone manner. You must be able to manage your work load and prioritise effectively as well as having good communication skills and will be professional at all times. You must be committed to a high standard of patient care and safety.

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
- An acceptable standard of literacy and numeracy skills

Desirable criteria
- GCSEs or Equivalent in English & Maths grade C or above

Experience

Essential criteria
- Experience in Customer Service or Reception/Office duties
- Experience of working within a team

Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of hospital computer systems

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
