**Position**:
**_Purchasing Administrator - £22-24,00 pa dependant on experience _**:
**_New Milton - Hybrid - 1 day work from home_**:
**_35 Hours a week - Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm_**:
This role is predominantly to support the Supply Chain Manager in all aspects of procurement activities.

You and the team will be the key focal point for the purchasing department within Appello regarding all administration and purchasing matters You will also be a point of escalation for external and internal customers and suppliers.

It is a fast-paced environment which involves prioritising your workload, responding quickly to changing schedules and liaising with other departments.

You will be communicating with people within the business as well as external suppliers and contractors.

**Main Responsibilities and Activities**

**Procurement**
- Help manage vendor assessments and supplier rating issues
- To create purchase orders against demand of the system and also from shared forecasting information
- Source new parts as required either by telephone or online. Gather necessary information including price, supplier, full description and lead time.
- Achieving cost reductions through negotiation and sourcing against targets on existing purchase prices within the companies range of commodities and services
- Help review the purchase order system (Business Central ), to ensure it is accurate, up to date and consistently meets the requirements of the business
- Continually review the overall “value” offered by existing suppliers and ensure that the company’s purchasing remains competitive
- To ensure that all paperwork is up to date and relevant for any subcontractors, consultants or partners working with the Appello Group.

**Partnering**
- To liaise with other departments within the business to help ensure the smooth and efficient transfer of high quality information and data
- Helping to manage, maintain and promote the different Appello accreditations, including but not limited to, BSI, BAFE,TSA.
- Assisting with internal and external audit programmes and the issue, control and close out of NCNs
- Following up NCNs to ensure that corrective actions are implemented where necessary and ensuring that any certification requirements are complied with
- Ensuring that Installation demand for materials is covered by adequate and timely supply through proactive management with respect to order fulfilment
- Provision of timely feedback on the procurement process to internal customers, supplying better information to liaise and plan delivery dates with external customers.

**General**
- To ensure the purchasing administration teams business targets/KPI’s are met
- Running, creating and interrogating various daily and monthly reports and attending meetings
- Ensuring returned items are accurately recorded and faulty items replaced by vendor in a timely manner. Warranty returns management. Advanced replacement management
- To ensure the facilities maintenance schedules are maintained and that the various buildings remain compliant.
- Provide administrative support to other functions within the Supply Chain as required during times of peak loading.
- To assist in the creation of purchase orders
- Timely and effective communication of forecast and purchase orders to suppliers
- To ensure office procedures and working practices are followed. To also ensure that these are regularly reviewed and updated as necessary in accordance with the Quality Management System
- To assist with the up keep of the warehouse / storage area, moving boxes, recycling with some light lifting and shifting of boxes. (suitable training will be given in line with H & S, manual handling)

**Requirements**:
We are looking for someone with great administration skills, who has experience working in a customer service environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ideal applicant will have a positive 'can do' attitude, is self-motivated and can take ownership of situations.

**Qualifications**

Essential
- An education to either GCSE Grade A-C including Maths and English, 'O' level standard or NVQ level 2/3
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Good verbal and written communication skills

Desirable
- Experience in negotiating supplier contracts to gain cost reduction
- Working towards CIPS or equival
