Are you looking for a challenge? We are happy to offer an opportunity to work as part of the Early Years Speech and Language Therapy team
You will support the therapists in providing administrative support for the Early Years team therapy sessions for children with ASD and SLCN (speech, language and communication needs), as well as support for them to run the groups
Our teams are well established and work collaboratively with other agencies to empower settings to create and sustain communication supportive environments and to develop targeted and specialist provision of pupils with identified SLCN.

To assist qualified Speech and Language Therapy staff to deliver programmes of care for children
To support speech and language therapists to provide online parent workshops
To undertake a range of administrative tasks as required by the Team.
To communicate clearly Speech and Language Therapy care aims to clients/parents and carers under the guidance of a speech and language therapist
To prioritise the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children at all times
To support the service to achieve Key Performance Indicators and maintain Target Activity Levels
To take part in quality governance, audits and projects for the team/service
To contribute to, and provide feedback about, possible developments in the team
A supportive, friendly team of speech and language therapy colleagues
Experienced and supportive team of speech and language therapy assistants
Regular supervision meetings with a senior therapist every 6 weeks, along with an annual appraisal
A busy but manageable workload working within the Early Years team

To demonstrate auditory and perceptual skills in the treatment of children.
To facilitate parents to carry out speech and language therapy programmes / strategies / advice under the supervision of a qualified speech and language therapist
To communicate information from therapy to children and families as appropriate
To work in an integrated way with local authority / health / social services for the effective delivery of therapy.
To feedback to the speech and language therapist outcomes and progress on the identified targets for children
To feedback to the speech and language therapist any concerns around the child in therapy
To proactively identify clinical and service issues within supervision
To demonstrate the ability to reflect on practice with peers and supervisors and identify own strengths and development needs.
To prioritise workload according to agreed priorities, clinical procedures and service need.
To carry out administration tasks in a timely manner e.g. filing, typing, sending of referrals and distribution of reports.
To actively manage issues that arise where possible, seeking support if required.
To raise issues that cannot be resolved with therapist / supervisor / team leader in a timely manner
To use well developed communication skills.
To recognise potential breakdown and conflict when it occurs and seek advice and support to resolve from a supervisor/therapist/team leader in a timely manner.
To use appropriate strategies to manage aggressive behaviour within the work place, and to report any incidences of aggressive behaviour.
To listen to the concerns of children, families, provide support as appropriate and feedback these concerns to the speech and language therapist
To maintain sensitivity to the emotional needs of children and their families.
To evaluate own delivery with support, to be accountable for own actions and recognise the boundaries of the role, seeking advice as appropriate from therapist/supervisor/ team leader.
To be aware of and adhere to service plans and policies.
To advise therapist/team leader/ supervisor on issues of service shortfall or pressure.
To assume appropriate band 3 level tasks as requested by team leader /supervisor / therapist.
To monitor stock levels in own service area and request new equipment as required via team leader.
To collate and organise therapy materials for use by the service
To organise timetable of therapy and appointments across arrange of education / health /community settings
To work within infection control and health and safety guidelines.
To attend, and contribute to, Team, admin / assistant and Departmental meetings.
