Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to join the high-performing Colorectal Surgery team at Ashford and St Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust.

This post is a clinical research fellowship (ST grade), researching aspects of colorectal diseases.

It is suitable for registrar level in general surgery with interest in colorectal surgery.

**The postholder will**:
Undertake a higher degree in the field of Colorectal surgery

Be the surgical registrar on-call rota, currently 1:4 weekend nights

Reviewing patients in follow-up clinics

Attend the Colorectal Grandround research meeting (monthly)

Undertake quality improvement projects (as and when needed)

There will be an opportunity to conduct audit projects at Ashford and St Peter’s outside of the scope of the formal higher degree. There will also be the opportunity to develop specialist skills in a chosen subspecialty area including pelvic floor, anorectal physiology, colonoscopy
