The role of the ERC Controller is to monitor systems that provide a communication link between customers and the control room. Our customers are NHS lone workers, schools that provide trips for their students/staff and our new Martyn's Law product which oversees educational establishments under terrorism related lockdown. The Controller also monitors various news feeds from around the world to identify problems/issues or incidents that could affect the safety and security of our customers, and then take appropriate measures as required. The role requires analytical skills and attention to detail.

The role would suit a person former military personnel or from a previous communications/emergency room environment (advantageous but not necessary) but capable of offering a reassuring presence to customers in distress. Standard working schedule is currently a 2-days 2-nights 4-off rotating shift pattern, though all staff are expected to provide additional cover during major incidents, and be flexible to cover other shifts in the event of sickness/leave. We also have Monday to Friday 8.30 to 5.30 shifts available

There is a holiday entitlement of 28 days p/a paid (including bank holidays).

The annual salary is £24,000 to £27,000 PA..

Travel costs are at the employee's expense.
