Position: Director of Domestic Abuse Services - Senior Management

Location: London and Home Counties

Hours: Full-time

Contract: Permanent

About the Service/Department

The organisation is London’s largest provider of services to women affected by Domestic Abuse. The dedicated teams provide support in 31 refuges, across 7 Boroughs and last year we supported nearly 4,000 people to recover from the trauma of domestic abuse.

This role is specifically focused on delivering against Hestia’s domestic abuse service contracts including refuges, floating support, IDVA and MARAC.

The new Director of Domestic Abuse will develop the service and progress opportunities to build new partnerships and grow and diversify income.

Some other responsibilities of the role include:
Ensure that services are delivered in a trauma informed and recovery focused way which prioritises the aspirations and strengths of all service users
Work closely with Business Development to win tenders, retain existing contracts, develop new service models / approaches
Support the Senior Management Team both in organisational strategy and performance management
Provide consultation and support to staff in emergencies out of hours and ensure that a robust on call service operates across operational services
Ensure the CEO and relevant Directors are expertly briefed in a timely manner in relation to any external communications or stakeholder issues
Support the delivery of corporate strategies such as Fundraising, Policy and Communications
Identify gaps in service provision and propose models for piloting/ meeting unmet needs

About You

Be solution focused with an emphasis on personal responsibility
Management experience at a senior level with the capacity for substantial staff leadership
Demonstrate a confident approach with internal and external stakeholders such as Commissioners and Counsillors.
Substantial experience of leading domestic abuse service provision and working within the domestic abuse sector.
Have capacity to work with trauma and support staff to stay resilient and respond to need.
Extensive experience delivering successful outcomes and positive service user experience.
Have a thorough understanding of the strategic environment in which domestic abuse services are being delivered.
Showcase an exemplary record of successful contract management, retention and bidding of new tenders
Experienced managing complex budgets.
A thorough understanding of the legislation and good practice underpinning the robust delivery of domestic abuse community services
Showcase significant experience of the legal framework and best practice for safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children
