**Job Title**:Purchase Ledger Clerk

**Reports to**:Head of Finance

**Location**:Southport PR9 7QP

**Salary**: £20,280 salary + bonus structure + company pension

**Hours**: 40 hours M-F (With the ability to work remotely 1 day per week)

**Main Purpose of the job**:
As part of the accounting team, you will play a vital role alongside other key members in maintaining an efficient and organised finance function with high financial integrity for the business. The key role of this position will be maintenance of the purchase ledger and basic bookkeeping / data input.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Processing high volumes of client purchase invoices
- Maintaining the purchase ledger
- Recording and depositing cheques
- Reconcilling Supplier accounts
- Operating our Xero Accounting system & our bespoke CRM database
- Liaising with customers and responding to queries
- Providing administrative support to the team
- Collaborating closely with individuals across the business at all levels
- Maintaining spreadsheets for the department
- Maintaining Internal database records
- Ad hoc duties to support the finance department

**Key Measure & Targets**
- Matching invoices to purchase orders
- Managing full workload independently
- Paying suppliers on a timely basis, processing invoices efficiently and accurately
- Dealing with PO queries swiftly and effectively
- Agreed KPI Targets, in line with company bonus structure

**Person Specification**

**Essential**
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accountancy procedures and principals
- Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
- Effective communication skills and organisational skills to be able to manage a busy workload independently
- Ability to resolve and reconcile issues with limited supervision by identifying sources of errors, securing appropriate corrections and ensuring that appropriate changes are put in place to prevent reoccurrence
- Enthusiastic, committed and a fast learner with previous experience of a busy environment
- Computer literate and highly numerate with high degree of accuracy

**Desirable**
- Recognised entry level qualification in accountancy or bookkeeping
- Previous experience with Xero accounting software would be a benefit, but is not essential

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: From £20,280.00 per year
