Creating and implementing procurement strategies to support business growth, increased margins and cost saving initiatives.
- Provide strategic purchasing input and support to Business Development team.
- Lead SRM activities to drive commodity strategies creation and cost reduction plans
- Identify and develop new supply chains as required to support business objectives.
- Produce commercial modelling and pricing proposals for bid submissions
- Maintaining close working relationships with the Client and Account/Business Development Managers.
**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Provide strategic procurement input to ensure competitive commercial offering and solution design for new business opportunities.
- Lead large scale commercial pricing projects, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Create and develop strategic long term category strategies with a time plan and cost/benefit proposal.
- Create and deliver strategic bid presentations, representing the procurement function in internal and external meetings.
- Identify and mitigate supply and commercial risks within the supply chain.
- Review of contracts and terms and conditions, identifying procurement risks and responsibilities
- Support bid writing and gathering of information required for bid submission.
- Negotiate all the key commercial data and supplier agreements relative to a specific project.
- Lead strategic supplier negotiations to eliminate/reduce costs and obtain preferential terms.
- Implement supplier rebates and other mechanisms for obtaining cost reduction
- Building and driving relationships with key vendors to improve pricing and quality of services
- Develop strong and effective external client relationships to ensure the needs of the customer are understood and met.
- Contribute to the development of departmental key processes
- Ensuring part compliance and product attribute data is maintained and available.
**Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience**:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Previous significant experience in a procurement sourcing environment
- Bid work experience
- engaging with strategic suppliers to ensure competitive commercial position
- MCIPS qualified or working towards
- Experience in project management and/or in managing a large programme of work from sourcing to delivery
- Strategic sourcing - experience in development of category and sourcing strategies across multiple stakeholders
- Able to lead a project team independently as well as work as part of a team
- Evidence of stakeholder management
- Ability to present information in a clear, concise manner up to senior leadership team level
- Professional and ethical in approach
- Excellent communicator at all levels across all media
- Demonstrable track record in managing direct relationships with major suppliers
- Strong commercial acumen
- Able to identify opportunities for improvement
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel
- Sector experience in the following markets desirable (but not essential) : Defence, Automotive, Utilities, Beverage equipment.
