**Job Summary**

This position involves overseeing and directing the distribution of payments using effective and timely credit control procedures at Whitespace Group. Additionally, providing assistance to Account Assistants in their tasks as needed.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervise outstanding sales balances, proactively contacting customers before balances reach overdue status.
- Initiate necessary proceedings to ensure the resolution of outstanding debts when required.
- Generate regular reports on sales debtors using Credit Hound.
- Raise sales invoices and credit notes, record in debtor and nominal ledgers, and allocate cash settlements.
- Reconcile sales orders between FileMaker and the accounting system.
- Monitor client balances, address issues with problem payers, resolve customer queries, and take appropriate actions.
- Perform daily reconciliation of our primary Euro, Dollar, and Sterling bank accounts. Monitor and post Sage pay and PayPal transactions, reconciling accounts for month-end closure.
- Prepare the monthly commission report for Account Managers and Payroll.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse team to ensure accurate dispatch of Storage invoices and maintain the Storage report.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Reconcile bank accounts, handle refund preparations, manage direct debits and BACS payments, and process credit card receipts.
- Contribute to cash flow projections.
- Assist Account Assistants as needed.
- Undertake ad hoc tasks, including credit card expense checks and approvals, uploading suppliers' invoices, and managing invoice payments on Barclay Bank.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the **Credit Controller**.

The **Credit Controller** will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Line manager or Head of Department.

The **Credit Controller** will actively follow our company’s policies including Equal Opportunities policies

The **Credit Controller** will maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations.

**Qualifications**:
**Experience**:

- A minimum five-years credit control experience

**Skills**:

- Computer literate with good knowledge of Excel, Word and ideally SAGE 200 accounting and SAGE payroll software or similar, WAP
- Good organisation and administrative skills.
- Self-motivation and ability to work on own initiative.
- Attention to detail and timeliness.
- Articulate and confident.
- Flexibility to deal with multiple customer accounts.

**Working Conditions**:

- Office Based 5 days per Week.
- 09:00-17:30hrs
