**Job summary**:

- The job description below relates to the position of Associate on the London Ship Finance Team

**Key Responsibilities**
- The primary responsibility will be to assist one, or a number of Executive Directors, managing a portfolio of shipping company clients.
- The Associate will be responsible for the preparation of credit papers, credit reviews, financial analysis, shipping market analysis to support a lending decision. In addition the Associate will be responsible for preparing and delivering Powerpoint presentations to clients of CA-CIB products or ideas.- The Associate will contribute actively to client meetings, in collaboration with an Executive Director / Team Head and will maintain an active dialogue with clients to propose new products and ideas to meet client needs.
- The Associate will be responsible for maintaining and demonstrating shipping market knowledge, banking market and banking product knowledge.
- Risk management of the portfolio to proactively identify developing credit issues and develop solutions to address these.
- Other responsibilities, projects and activities as specified by the Executive Director or Team Head.

**Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities**
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

**Academic qualification / Speciality**:

- Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
- Finance focussed business degree.

**Experience**:

- +3 years experience in a lending team of CA-CIB or another financial institution

**Required skills**:

- Fluent English (written and spoken)

- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
- Shipping market knowledge
- Ability to work independently
- Legal documentation experience

**Technical skills required**:

- Strong excel modelling skills
- Good PowerPoint skills
- Strong report writing skills
- In-depth knowledge of ship finance products and commercial understanding of client needs.
