The Team:

The Marine Assets and Projects team is focused on transactional, non-contentious marine and projects work. They act primarily for owners, operators, and stakeholders such as major energy companies across a broad range of commercial shipping and marine projects. The team can advise on the entire lifecycle of a ship, from shipbuilding contracts, to financing, ship recycling, time charters, and offshore projects.

The team acts for some of the world's largest companies and are involved in transactions relating to all types of vessels including bulk carriers, container ships, tankers, reefers, cruise ships, yachts, offshore rigs, FSRUs, FPSOs, and other floating energy projects as well as supply and support vessels.

They advise on all related contracts, including industry standard forms and drafting bespoke contracts. The team is also familiar with and negotiates various forms of vessel financing, including traditional loans and sale and leaseback financing arrangements.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be a core member of the London Marine Assets and Projects Team. The candidate will work closely with various other practice areas, including the corporate teams, marine litigation, and our international offices. The ideal candidate will have experience in most of these areas:

  • Shipbuilding contracts
  • Ship sale and purchase (ideally being able to manage the transaction with minimal supervision)
  • Ship financing
  • Bareboat charters
  • Long term time charter parties
