The Adult Education Service is part of Coventry City Council. We provide a wide range of courses for Coventry residents age 19+ and much of our provision is targeted at people with the highest levels of need.
We also offer a very wide range of short community courses in arts, crafts, music, dance, exercise, fitness and family learning. In addition, we run a highly supportive study programme for young people.
- Nursery Workers
- Teaching Assistants
- Leadership/Management; and
- Customer Care.
We also provide courses for adults who are seeking work via the Council’s Job Shop.
Our main base is at Southfields Old School, CV1 5EJ, with provision delivered at around 25 other sites within Coventry, mostly in areas of highest need.
What is the job role?
Coventry Adult Education Service is seeking a Data Administrator to join our small and very supportive Management Information Systems (MIS) team.
This is an exciting and demanding role at the heart of the service. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate information is available about all our courses and getting new learners enrolled onto those courses. You will also be a key contact for our teaching staff, helping them make use of our data system for tasks like completing their registers and recording the achievements of learners and resolving any problems they may have.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
The postholder must have previous experience of data administration. You will have fast, accurate keyboarding skills with an eye for detail and will undertake a variety of tasks including the following:
- Setting up courses / timetables / registers on the MIS system
- Ensuring the online Coursefinder accurately reflects the courses offered
- Processing enrolments and enter payments
- Actioning requests for learner transfers / withdrawals / change of details
- Adding completion data and outcomes for learners
- Dealing with queries from learners and tutors
You will be expected to use your initiative to deal with issues as and when they arise and be able to identify more complex issues that need to be escalated.
For this position, experience of using ProSolution or a similar database system would be advantageous.
