Bookkeeper

The Role:
**Responsibilities**:
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Reconcile bank statements and card transactions
Maintain general ledger and perform month-end close activities
Generate financial reports
Set up and maintain digital filing system
Maintain and file paper records.
Assist with tax preparation and filing, if required
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
Ad hoc projects and tasks as required
Submit quarterly VAT returns to HMRC
Liaise and build a relationship with our external accountants
**Experience**:
Essential
A minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience in the UK
Proficiency in Xero
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Meticulous and organised
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable
AAT or accountancy qualification
Knowledge of currency and overseas import / export bookkeeping
To Start ASAP
Monday to Friday with some flexibility in start time
Commute to work should be within 1 hour.
