**Your new role**

National Highways has an exciting opportunity for a Governance Administration Lead to support Project and Regional sponsors on the Pipeline programme and overseeing the co-ordination and line management of Support Coordinators.

The Pipeline is a programme of projects being developed so that they can be considered for inclusion in the Road Investment Strategy; a series of capital enhancement programmes and sits within the Complex Infrastructure Programme (CIP) within the Major Project Directorate in National Highways.

This role will ensure all necessary governance and coordination for meetings and administration support is in place for the Pipeline programme in CIP sponsorship as well as other wider CIP sponsorship activities.

The role can be located at any of our Bristol, Bedford or Birmingham offices and will be based on a hybrid working model with a mix of home and office working.

**What you’ll be leading on**
- Encourage creativity and innovation in the team to embed a culture of continuous improvement, seeking to add value to the team’s activities and outputs so that customers’ expectations are not just met but exceeded.
- Support the Governance and Assurance manager in daily roles and oversee and provide support to support co-ordinators within the team, building capability to meet developing business needs and improve resilience.
- Maintain effective and collaborative working relationships both within the Directorate and across the organisation to support the effective implementation of specific corporate activities and ensure that short-term projects deliver best value and maximise benefits to customers.
- Support senior colleagues to identify opportunities, options and solutions for taking forward business improvements that help to meet current and future needs of the business.

**To be successful you’ll need**
- Evidence of managing stakeholder relationships, engaging internal and external clients and working with other members of the business to support the delivery of projects and activities within the organisation.
- Experience of managing and providing support and direction to staff
- Good communication skills, using appropriate styles, methods and timing to maximise understanding and impact
- Able to work effectively in a team with an ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- To show experience of working at pace, where organisational skills and attention to detail are not compromised.
- The ability to work proactively to complete tasks, independently prioritising workload when delivering multiple tasks.

**A bit about us**

The Complex Infrastructure Programme (CIP) is responsible for some of the largest and complex ‘Tier 1’ projects of national significance. Our projects are in the Government Major Projects Portfolio due to their level of investment, complexity of stakeholder and political landscape and importance as elements of national infrastructure that will lead to economic growth. CIP also oversees and manages the RIS3 Pipeline of projects through the options phase and ensures Ministers and other decision makers have sufficient information about the individual schemes to decide which should be progressed to delivery.
