Publica is seeking a dedicated and motivated Community Support Officer to join our team on a part time basis and make a real difference in the realm of food sustainability.

**About the role**

As our Community Support Officer (Food Sustainability) you will play a pivotal role in driving Cotswolds food sustainability initiatives forward. You will have the exciting opportunity to engage and work with diverse stakeholders, including local businesses and community organizations to coordinate a Cotswold Food Network and to enable new initiatives supporting a better food economy in our district. Your creativity and strategic thinking will be instrumental in coordinating innovative projects and building long-lasting partnerships.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for enabling and supporting local people and communities to take action on issues that are important to them. You will have a strong understanding of the Council’s vision and our commitment to use our grant funds to maximise positive impact on our communities and our local environment.

Some of your day to day responsibilities will be:

- Work in close partnership with organisations such as Feeding Gloucestershire and The Long Table
- Identify gaps in provision and facilitate partnership working
- Support development and coordination of a ‘Cotswold Food Network’
- Engage with voluntary and community sector organisations operating locally on relevant community projects and enable connections between them and local councils
- Support coordination of new initiatives aiming to reduce food waste and improve access to good quality, nutritious and affordable food for everyone

**You will need**
- GCSE (5 A-Cs or equivalent, including Maths and English) plus willingness to complete on-the-job training
- Experience in engaging with the public with a cheerful and friendly attitude
- Positive about embracing challenge and change, open to experimenting, new ideas, reflective practice and working with other organisations in a spirit of partnership
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with Data Protection

**Special conditions**
- Standard DBS check
- There may be a requirement to work at other Publica Group (Support) Ltd and/or client locations to meet the needs of the business
- You will be expected to work reasonable additional hours in line with the needs of the service
- Ability to travel

You will be employed by Publica Group Ltd which was created by four partner Councils (West Oxfordshire District Council, Cotswold District Council, Cheltenham Borough Council and Forest of Dean District Council) to deliver more efficient and improved services.
