- Now Hiring - Corporate Trust Officer_
Major Responsibilities- Negotiate the terms of a variety of trust and agency agreements of varying complexity under which TSX Trust will assume both contractual and fiduciary obligations, assess the degree of associated risk and make recommendations on acceptability of new business and fees to be charged- Review and evaluate all legal documentation on corporate financing and on other transactions to ensure they are in forms that meet, and can be administered to meet, standards adequate for the protection of TSX Trust.- Represent TSX Trust in managing a portfolio of accounts, including dealing with legal counsel and/or senior officers of client companies on a frequent basis regarding a variety of matters, e.g. attendance at closing, agreement interpretation issues, corporate defaults or restructuring, service quality questions, amendments of or special services under existing contracts and other matters in connection with client service- Analyze and interpret agreements to set up internal operation of files and provide administrative direction to administrators and/or related departments. Ensure/monitor compliance with all portfolio agreements by TSX Trust and clients.- Prepare and complete correspondence to clients, their legal counsel or investors. Determine, bill and report all fees for special and ancillary services. Monitor and control accounts receivable.- Provide exceptional customer service to corporate clients, their legal counsel and investors, with a view to encouraging growth with respect to the existing client relationships.- Identify and escalate matters with appropriate analysis and recommendations to either the Senior Corporate Trust Officer or VP, Corporate Trust.- Identify opportunities for and participate in developing new business and product offerings. Contribute to building new business relationships with prospects and participate in initiatives to grow the Corporate Trust book of business.- Maintain vital standards of knowledge and expertise in applicable areas of law, commerce, corporate finance, and securities markets as well as internal policies and procedures.- Although the position is based on our Western clients, the Corporate Trust Officer may at times be called upon to support and back-up the Toronto area team.
Must have skills:
- Post Secondary Education in a relevant field such as law, business, commerce, or finance- Proven experience (4 to 6 years) in the financial, corporate/commercial, or securities industry OR minimum 1 -3 years experience as a practicing lawyer- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Strong analytical skills and sound judgment- Highly organized with strong attention to detail- Able to build and maintain strong relationships with the proven ability to understand client's needs, be proactive and creative- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team- Strong ability to balance competing priorities in a time-sensitive environment and stay poised and positive

- Experience in the Corporate Trust Industry- Canadian Securities Course- Management experience leading small teams- Corporate Trust specific courses and/or designations
