You see, when you’re looking for the latest, greatest and tastiest food out there, you’ve got to be faster than most at making decisions and spotting opportunities where others don’t. In our team, cross functional working, in-depth analysis and a keen eye for detail means we can ensure Sainsbury’s Food To Go ranges deliver on availability when it’s needed the most, help us drive profit and keep our customers coming back again and again.

In this role, your goal will be to design and deliver the Food To Go promotional strategy, optimising across all events and channels, with continuous iteration to drive customer and commercial KPIs. You’ll also lead the projects for our category’s channel growth action plan, ensuring we’ve got fair share of representation that demonstrates our value and innovation to customers such as our new Food To Go Hubs in store.

**As a Category Planner you’ll**:

- Land promotional plans smoothly in line with the Food To Go strategy. Deliver customer growth and incremental sales, with all performance assessed and learnings applied
- Continuously iterate and optimise our promotional strategy based on performance against customer, commercial and operational KPIs
- Delivery of end-to-end projects where you’ll manage transformational projects within Food To Go including Post Investment Reviews
- Lead our relationship with insights to keep Food To Go abreast of all customer, competitor and category knowledge that will impact our strategy or provide new opportunities for growth
- Provide meaningful insights through detailed and accurate reporting

- Being comfortable with dealing with ambiguity and naturally inquisitive to problem solving when we are doing something new
- Working through others to achieve a common goals and objectives
- Proven experience of successful project management of varying size and scope
- Ability to define requirements, timetables of events and interdependencies in the process from start to finish
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage with people at all levels
- Product, market, consumer and financial understanding
- Comfortable in MS Excel & PowerPoint
- Building excellent relationships and influencing stakeholders
- Initiative and drive to solve problems and improve processes
- Landing real tangible change in a retail environment desirable
- Comfortable with understanding and using a variety of different tools and systems
