We now require a smart, dynamic and helpful **Proofreader & Editor** to support our production and marketing teams. The role will involve working with a range of individuals, and requires someone who is adaptable, happy with shifting priorities, but is also organised and has an eagle eye for detail.

This role reports to the Production Manager.

**About the Role**

As Proofreader & Editor, you will ensure the accuracy and clarity of multilanguage product packaging and written content. You will use your communication skills and attention to detail to edit content according to brand guidelines and interfacing with the production team and nutritionists who write copy.
- Proofreading written content to ensure accuracy, and legality of product packaging, from copy to artwork and interfacing with our design agency
- Editing web content and articles to enhance clarity and appeal
- Collaborating with writers (nutritionists) and colleagues in marketing and commercial to develop and refine online content according to desired objectives
- Ensuring that all written materials adhere to established brand and editorial guidelines
- Conducting research / interfacing with in-house scientists to ensure the accuracy of technical nutrition information
- Reviewing and providing feedback on materials created by other team members
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, both short and longer term

**Requirements**:

- Excellent proofreading and editing skills
- Expert use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English and communications
- Ideally a related degree in Journalism, English, Literature or Communications; alternatively relevant sciences or nutrition background
- 4 years’ experience with copy editing and proofreading
- Able to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating self-sufficiency
- Adept at following and ensuring adherence to brand guidelines, tone of voice and editorial house style
- Keen to develop an understanding of the regulatory requirements of our industry, relating to health claims and food supplements packaging (training will be provided)
- Able to maintain focus with attention to detail for extended periods of time
- Flexible to work to tight deadlines when immediate turnaround is required
- Experience commissioning freelancers (translators, content writers)

**Hours and compensation**
- 20-30 hours per week depending on experience, with flexible hours
