The DT team is a is a major provider of audio transcription and reporting services to The Ministry of Justice.

**Job Overview**

We are seeking responsible individuals, with an interest in the law, to join our team on a self-employed, part-time basis. Requirement for court attendance will vary on a week-by-week basis; this position is therefore likely to appeal to individuals who can be flexible in their approach to work.

Full training will be given.

**Requirements**:

- Regular Court attendance
- Responsible for setting up and dismantling portable recording equipment and for troubleshooting and monitoring the equipment in court.
- Effective communication of in-court updates to the Departmental Manager and/or Supervising Technician.
- Liaison with Operational Managers and Court staff to obtain the necessary information to ensure accurate and effective compilation of the log.
- Preparation of court log with pertinent, concise and accurate content.

- Basic technical aptitude.
- Ability to deliver under pressure/in high pressure environments.
- Sound knowledge of the English language.
- Smart appearance.
- Punctuality.
- Ability to concentrate for long periods.
- Good, legible handwriting.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Open to learning new systems.
- Reliability.
- Discretion.

**Hours**
- Indicative hours are 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Additional hours may be required as and when the court day dictates.

**Benefits**

This engagement will be on a self-employed basis and paid at daily rate of £77 per day, with overtime paid at £10.55 per hour if the day exceeds 7 working hours.
