An opportunity has arisen for a passionate and self-motivated individual to join our team as a **Substance Misuse Recovery Worker** based in **Lancashire**.
**Purpose of the role**:
Provide high standard and quality of health care and therapeutic support to patients in accordance with ADFERIAD’s standards and clinical procedures in addition to Care Quality Commission (CQC) Regulatory Guidance.
Work as part of a team under the supervision of qualified nurses and doctors.
**Dimensions of the role**:
**Role accountability**
The role holder is responsible for taking providing a supportive role in the provision of medical treatment, appropriate therapeutic interventions and for contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of a shift.
**Functional accountability**
The role holder will have direct access support and guidance from the Residential Services Manager, Lead Nurse and qualified Nurses at Salus Withnell Hall to ensure that the unit operates within internal and external policy and procedure(s) and other regulatory frameworks.
An Independent Nurse Prescriber gives overall clinical advice and guidance to the Salus Withnell Hall as required.
**Provision of health care support to patients**
Carry out tasks as delegated by the trained nurse and within the limits of training and knowledge
Implement the following clinical procedures in line with clinicians such as (this list is not exhaustive)
Pulse Monitoring
Blood Pressure monitoring
Urine testing
Blood glucose testing Temperature
Report any changes in the condition and/or circumstances of patients to the nursing team
Participate in maintaining patients nursing records to ensure information is accurate and up to date. Support individuals (prior to, during and following clinical procedures or investigations).
Chaperone patients when required and assist with medical procedures. This will include being vigilant in relation to strict infection control procedures.
Contribute and assist in the moving and handling of individuals ensuring that organisational guidelines and policies are met.
Ensure that patients and carers / relatives are involved in the care procedures, ensuring that they understand and can give consent.
Participate in ensuring that patient needs are met by working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies, especially in relation to ongoing care needs.
Ensure that effective communication is established and maintained with patients and carers / relatives.
Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations Communicate basic information to patients and their carers maintaining confidentiality, dignity and respect
**Contribute to the effective running of Salus Withnell Hall**
Practice effective communication / reception skills / answering telephones and completing basic clerical tasks to maintain a professional service
Undertake housekeeping duties to maintain standards of health and hygiene within the service This includes the management of patient meals and drinks
Participate in the effective and efficient use of physical and financial resources. This includes the correct rotation of stock to maximise supplies
Take a proactive role in the management of risk, i.e. risk assessments, reporting incidents near misses and hazards.
**This Job Description provides a framework in which duties may be carried out, however it may be necessary to make alterations and adjustments from time to time to meet the needs of the service.**
**Qualifications**:
Existing Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care or ability and willingness to obtain Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care to fulfill statutory obligation to CQC.
**Experience**:
1. Ability to provide practical support to patients.

**Skills**:
1. Good communication skills.
