**Your role and responsibilities**

As the leading neurology service in the northeast, our team see a busy and varied caseload. Our hospital facilities include a dedicated ICU staffed 24 hours a day, spacious wards with walk-in kennels, in-house 1.5T Siemens Magnetom Essenza MRI, 16 slice Siemens Somatom Emotion helical CT, digital radiography, digital fluoroscopy, a Samsung RS85 ultrasound system and Arthrex / Karl Storz Laparoscopic/thoracoscopic and arthroscopic imaging systems.

We encourage an evidence-based multi-disciplinary approach, supporting a process of continuous learning and a collegiate atmosphere. Our extensive clinical caseload provides an interesting variety of cases and supports ongoing clinical research that is actively encouraged and supported. Linnaeus Veterinary Limited facilitates a highly collaborative approach between their hospitals and colleagues.

**Our Rota**

40 hours per week over 4 days

(With OOH, weekend and bank holiday cover on call as part of the rota)

Wear Referrals (part of Linnaeus Veterinary Limited, owned by Mars) is a multi-disciplinary, specialist veterinary referral hospital in the Northeast of England, close to the historic university city of Durham, the thriving city of Newcastle, and set between the northeast coast and the Pennines. The hospital is also within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and Scotland.

Our specialist services include neurology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesia, oncology, diagnostic imaging, cardiology, busy primary care out-of-hours emergency service, in-house physiotherapy, and hydrotherapy.

Our team of 180 staff includes 17 European/RCVS Specialists and 70 registered veterinary nurses. We have an established internship programme and residency programmes in surgery, internal medicine, and oncology; additionally, we are also accredited as a training venue and examination centre for veterinary nurse training.
