Ward F21 and Ward F22 are Gastroenterology Wards within the Surgery Division.

We are looking for a keen, proactive and self-motivated individual who has experience of supporting work experience, apprentices and learners within a healthcare setting and ideally has experience of teaching.

You will support the new HCA'S with their training, care certificates and development. You will be instrumental in delivering training within the education team as well as supporting learning in the clinical environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post-holder is involved in the education, training and development of non-registered nursing staff

Works as an effective member of the clinical nursing team to ensure all health care support workers are inducted, supported, proactively encouraged to acquire additional clinical skills, and providing effective and safe support to the registered nurses.

Contributes effectively to ensure the Trust and Division meet targets relating to learning and development.

Assists the registered nurses in providing assurance to the Senior Divisional Nursing Team that the non-registered staff team are competent, safe, compassionate, well-trained, caring and always put the patient first.

Is a positive and well-presented role model to all the staff.

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
- Maths and English GCSE grade A-C /4-9 or equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2)

Desirable criteria
- Evidence of continuing professional and personal development

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
- Care Certificate

Desirable criteria
- NVQ / QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Level 3 Apprenticeship

Experience

Essential criteria
- Evidence of supporting colleagues / new starters Experience in teaching/training colleagues

Desirable criteria
- Teaching and/or training experience

Communication and Relationship Skills

Essential criteria
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate evidence of building effective relationships with colleagues

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
