We are excited to be recruiting a Reducing Parental Conflict Coordinator as a pivotal role in taking forward our plans to further develop the Torbay offer for addressing parental conflict.

This role of Parental Relationship co-ordinator will act as the primary contact for the Reducing Parental Programme and lead a Torbay wide understanding of and approach to reducing the impact of inter-parental conflict on children and young people.

The post holder will be responsible for writing and delivering training for internal staff and partners whilst developing an innovative toolkit to enable practitioners to identify and address cases of parental conflict to reduce the impact in children.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

- To have responsibility for delivering evidence-based interventions and embed the reducing parental conflict programme across Early Help, working alongside Early Help Professionals and partners.
- To contribute to Early Help assessments, complex case discussions and relevant multi-agency forums where parental conflict is a factor within the family.
- Deliver formal and informal training to internal and external colleagues to promote trauma informed whole family-based practice in line with the reducing parental conflict programme.
- To establish and maintain effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure a high standard of service to families.

This is a really exciting time to join Torbay as it moves at pace through its redesign of Children’s Services. The Early Help Service is a stable team consisting of practitioners working across a number of disciplines and delivering various outcome focused interventions. The service works closely with partner agencies and is committed to community engagement and development by forming positive relationships with children, young people and their families.

**This post meets the requirements for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check. This will show spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions which have not been filtered in line with legislation, plus any information held by local Police that is considered relevant to the role**.

**This position is for a fixed term until 31st March 2025.**

**Interviews are expected to be conducted during the week commencing 01st April 2024.**

**Skills**:
Essential:

- Excellent communication skills with young people (groups & individuals).
- Effective communication skills with other professionals and an ability to maintain composure under pressure and to ensure that appropriate strategies are adopted to ensure personal resilience and a professional client-led service is delivered.
- Sensitivity, empathic understanding and diplomacy in all interpersonal relationships.
- Able to motivate individuals and other agencies to move through courses of action and decision making processes and taking proactive action.
- A methodical, organised approach to work, self-motivation and personal drive to complete tasks to the required quality and within timescales.

**As this post meets the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016 (part 7), the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.**

**Knowledge**:
Essential:

- Knowledge of working with multi agency/ multi-disciplinary teams.
- Extensive knowledge of the impact of exposure to parental conflict as children on neurological development
- Extensive knowledge of the impact of parental conflict on young people.
- Knowledge of group work and individual programmes such as Parenting Apart and CRAFT.

**Experience & Qualifications**:
Essential:

- Qualified to Diploma level 5 or equivalent qualification in either one of the following: Education, Health, Social Work, Youth Work or related field.
- Experience of working with families experiencing parental conflict.
- Experience of working with children and families with multiple and complex needs.
- Delivery of face to face and Group work.
- Experience of multi-agency working.
