The post is based full time at Blythe House, the V&A’s collection store and public research facility in West Kensington and the Storehouse at Here East, Stratford, London where you will be working as part of a dedicated decant archives team. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale collection move project and to develop your experience of archive collections handling, rehousing, and barcoding.

This full time, fixed term post (to end September 2024) will provide essential support to the 2x Project Archivists and play an important role in ensuring that our archive collections are ready and safe to move. You will work closely with the Decant team and V&A collections staff, preparing the archives for their move from Blythe House to the Storehouse. Your work will be hands-on with the collections, and involve auditing, barcoding and some rehousing.

You will also assist with the physical installation of archival materials into Storehouse and location control once installed. This essential work will improve access to and care of our archive collections, ensuring that they are moved safely and with accurate location information.
