We are looking for a friendly, flexible and conscientious person to join our small team of Domestic Assistants at Blyth Community Hospital.

This post is a 1 year fixed term contract to work 18hrs per week and the position is currently based within the inpatient ward. This post holder would usually work 3 x 6 hr shifts per week, working 3 days from 7, between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

The post includes working a share of weekends and Bank Holiday dates.

Other hours may also be available.

You’ll be part of a team striving to maintain the highest cleanliness standards in wards, departments, corridors and offices, and in doing so making a real difference to the NHS.

NHFM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Established in 2012, NHFM provide specialist project management services for large and small capital developments, estates maintenance and a full range of facilities services. Carrying out facilities management for a state-of-the-art specialist emergency care hospital - The Northumbria, three general hospitals - North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham hospitals - and a number of smaller community hospitals and clinic sites, we cover one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country.

**Examples of the tasks that we carry out are**:
Cleaning of floor areas as scheduled by means of vacuuming, mopping, buffing and spray cleaning.

Undertake “deep cleans” in areas where infection is present.

Removal of rubbish including domestic and clinical waste from designated areas to disposal point.

Damp dusting of all surfaces, ledges, shelves, curtain rails.

Cleaning of internal glass and external hand washing facilities.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all work areas.

Carry out any urgent spot cleaning and spillage when required.

Other tasks as deemed appropriate
