A Strategy Lead runs the day-to-day operations of the Marketing Strategy team. This includes line management of the team and resourcing the right people on the right projects. The Strategy Lead also leads on large, complex strategic projects. This includes the creation of digital marketing strategies, campaign plans and customer experience-led transformation. They will identify business goals and objectives, use data and research to develop responses to briefs, create strategic recommendations and proactively manage the rollout of these strategies both internally and with our clients. This is a highly collaborative role that works with the client services, creative, content, UX, data and technology teams, as well as with multiple clients, to define strategies and drive them through to implementation. As one of the leaders in the Marketing Strategy and Data Team, you will also help drive the strategic direction of major accounts in the agency.

The role
- **Team management**: Line manage a team of 4 marketing strategists, review their work and resource the projects and briefs that come into the team.
- **Digital strategy**: Craft digital strategies for complex marketing and customer experience (CX) projects - both the overarching strategic direction and specific customer propositions. Develop ideas off the back of these strategies and sell into clients.
- **Campaign planning**: Owning the approach to platforms, especially social media platforms, for the clients you work with, and developing roles for those channels within broader marketing and consumer journeys. This includes the distribution of content and the relationship between owned, earned and paid media.
- **Client workshops**: Running custom canvas workshops, such as insight gathering and prioritisation; customer journey mapping; value proposition mapping and validation; and formulating and substantiating business cases.
- **Audience insight**: Responsible for the design and execution of primary research into audiences, both on and offline. This should include audience personas, customer behaviours and channel preferences.
- **Data analysis and measurement**:Work with data to identify trends and pick out key insights and highlights. Create robust measurement frameworks with KPIs that track campaign performance.
- **Client relationships**: Deepen the agency’s relationships with key clients, at times owning client relationships. Give clients the confidence to take measured risks and use digital in ways that are new to them. Identify commercial opportunities to grow key client accounts and drive them forward into becoming a reality.
- **New business pitches**: Run pitches to win new clients and projects, presenting compelling strategy and campaign ideas.
- **Thought leadership**: Keep internal teams and clients abreast of developments in digital media and technology, acting as an evangelist for innovation within the agency.

**Requirements**:

- Digital strategy/planning experience
- A natural leader with the confidence and integrity to earn client and internal team confidence quickly
- Excellent writing, presentation, communication and consensus building skills
- Passionate about good marketing and customer experiences, technology and emerging media, behavioural economics and human psychology
