Recovery Worker - Assessments Focus

Are you looking for a rewarding career as a Recovery Worker in substance misuse?

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen at our Brixton service. This Recovery Worker role will focus on assessments and carry them out both on the telephone and in person.

You will be skilled in asking people about their substance misuse, confident in assessing and managing risk and able to formulate client led support plans. You will be working within a highly skilled and knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team who will support you in your development and your ability to deliver the best care you can to our service users.

You will work closely with our other service, The Lambeth Harbour that supports people with their ongoing recovery and offers a range of groups, 1-2-1 support, and pathways into training, employment and education. You will have your own caseload to manage and records you need to keep and update, that's all part of our professional commitment and service to our clients and commissioners. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, resilient, caring and creative.

You will work as part of a team with the aims of:

- understanding your clients
- keeping them safe
- creating a plan they can achieve with your support
- checking in with them and reviewing their progress
- keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them
- working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery
- continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients
- supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care

**REQUIRED SKILLS**:
To be successful in this role, you will:

- have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
- have some experience of working in a health, social care or related setting
- have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
- be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
- be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise you work
- have good oral and written communication skills
- be comfortable using IT and digital media
- be organised and able to manage your time effectively
- able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
- be happy to support other With You locations when needed

You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

**DESIRABLE SKILLS**:

- have previous experience of working with people who misuse substances
- knowledge of health and safety, including assessing client in high-risk situations
