**Behaviour Teaching Assistant**
For this Behaviour Teaching Assistant role you will be required to support students emotionally, mentally, and academically. You will mainly be classroom based where you will be supporting 6-8 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Due tothe students needs they will be working at a slightly lower level than their age group, so will need help during lessons with their reading, writing, and understanding the topic that is being learnt. There will be times where the students behaviour can becomequite challenging, and this could be due to something that is going on at home where they are struggling to manage and express their emotions or something that may have trigged them during the school day. When this happens, you will be required to step inand manage their behaviour and defuse the situation in a safe and calm way. The ideal Behaviour Teaching Assistant for this role will ideally need to have had previous experience in a YOT, Prison, Youth Club or a similar setting and be able to act as an inspirationalrole model for the students.
**SEMH School**
This SEMH School is based in the Southeast London borough of Greenwich and caters for girls and boys aged between 11-16 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs, Autism and Moderate Needs. They currently have 70 students who attend and in theirlast Ofsted in May 2019, they were reviewed as 'Good' in all areas.
