Are you ambitious, self-motivated and committed to the delivery of affordable housing?

We are looking for someone to join the Strategy & Enabling Team to help support the Council’s ambition to work with partners, local communities and developers to deliver 1000 new affordable homes each year by 2024.

A professional and organised person who is a good communicator and can work as part of the broader Housing Delivery Team you will have an understanding of enabling affordable housing within a local government setting and a knowledge of the range of stakeholders who would be involved.

Underpinning this, a sound knowledge of government policy in relation to affordable housing and planning, both local and central and interest or experience in the housing development process. Ideally someone with the communication skills and confidence to work with local community projects to support community-led housing as well as being comfortable negotiating with private developers and registered providers.

You will need to enable and promote affordable housing projects from inception through to completion to meet local housing need and act as the link between housing providers, development management, highways and legal teams to accelerate housing delivery.

You will need to be organised and have good attention to detail to help us to ensure we collect relevant data on housing need and track our housing delivery. Project management experience would also be an advantage.

This is a
**full time **role, 37 hours per week and is a permanent position. Your working days will be Monday to Friday flexi time, working mainly from home but also at BCC office at 100 Temple Street..
