Supportive Care Counsellor

**Are you registered with BACP/UKCP as a qualified counsellor and looking for a fulfilling role?**
The role of Supportive Care Counsellor is in place to:
- Provide individual counselling support to clients and patients within the Rennie Grove and Peace catchment area.
- Coordinate and be responsible for the running of bereavement support and carer support groups.
- Assist the Head of Support Care& Bereavement, Listening & Talking Therapies (BLT) manager in maintaining and developing the Rennie Grove and Peace supportive care service.
- Be involved in selection, training and management of team volunteers.
- Be involved in providing group supervision to listeners and support to Rennie Grove and Peace nursing staff.
You will therefore need to demonstrate your abilities in the following areas:
- A good understanding of technology with a working knowledge of Microsoft office packages i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to build good working relationships.
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Good administrative and record keeping skills and able to work with good attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Sensitivity and understanding to the needs of the volunteers and customers, many of whom may have experienced Rennie Grove and Peace services or be bereaved themselves.
