**A bit about the role**:
Improving the quality of life for patients is the ultimate goal of what we do at LifeArc. Impact is a programme of activity to embed in our day-to-day practices, a conscious and purposeful approach to planning for and monitoring, evaluating and communicating the contributions, outcomes and long-term impacts of our work. We are looking for an experienced and passionate leader to deliver this framework. This is a senior and influential position reporting to the Head of Project Management Office Operations (PMO Ops). You will lead the continued implementation of our impact monitoring and evaluation framework, working with our strategic portfolios (Translational Challenges) and extending this across the organisation. This role is vital in ensuring we [LifeArc] have the evidence and insights we need to inform strategic decisions, drive continuous improvement, and both achieve and articulate our vision for impact.

**About you**:
You will work with colleagues across LifeArc to help them embed impact planning, monitoring and evaluation into our organisational culture. This will include:

- Providing leadership of impact and evaluation, acting as a champion for impact and building strong relationships and networks across the organisation.
- Leading the ongoing implementation of our monitoring and evaluation framework that will shape LifeArc’s approach to measuring, capturing, and reporting impact.
- Ensuring that monitoring and evaluation continues to be embedded into our systems and processes, including PMO systems, project management documentation, change management toolkit and finance reporting.
- Continue to review and monitor analytics and reporting processes, procedures, and associated documents, implementing or making recommendations for change as appropriate.
- Develop our data capture, monitoring, analysis and reporting infrastructure to provide the organisation with timely and effective insights that will allow us to assess our progress against our strategic priorities and organisational theory of change.
- Ensuring organisational understanding, capacity, and capability for delivering against impact through:

- Providing employee training and development.
- Providing evaluation expertise to teams through 1:1 support, advice, and guidance.
- Drive the generation of regular impact reports by working with others across the organisation.
- Developing effective working relationships internally and externally to help understand and evaluate our impact, including supporting corporate communications to share the impact of our work through our annual impact report and other publications.
- You will have good understanding of the research landscape, including research impact.
- You will have the ability to synthesise complex information in a way that is accessible and meaningful for many different audiences.
- You will understand how to interpret, model and visualise data using a variety of experiences and techniques.
- You will have a comprehensive knowledge of research and/or evaluation methodologies with a wealth of knowledge and experience of evaluation approaches; preferably with experience of embedding approaches of impact measurement into a complex organisation or programmes including charity, higher education and/or pharmaceutical sectors and using learning to bring about tangible change within an organisation.
- You will provide credible leadership to our team and our partners and embed a culture of evaluation/impact.
- You will be a confident and dynamic change maker who is able to deliver at both the strategic and operational levels.
- You will motivate, guide and develop staff to achieve impact in line with strategic goals and priorities.
- You will be innovative and enjoy collaborating on initiatives to achieve our, and our partners ambitions. You will be a facilitator and natural collaborator, with excellent management skills.
- You will have strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships quickly across the organisation and with external partners/collaborators.
- You will display effective communication skills including the ability to communicate complex information to non-specialists, especially engaging and influencing effectively with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- You will be independent and responsible for your own work, to lead and deliver at both a strategic and operational level.
- You will report to the Head of PMO Operations and work closely with your colleagues in the PMO team and the wider organisation.
