This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced **HR Advisor**to work for The Joseph Rowntree Foundation Trust in York to support the provision of a comprehensive People service to departments, managers and staff across the JRHT.

**You will be**:

- Working closely with managers to support them to lead and develop their teams
- Hands-on, providing day to day operational support and advice to JRHT registered care, housing and development managers.

**Key activities include**:

- Providing advice, guidance and coaching to managers and staff on policies and procedures and good practice in handling individual staff issues, including informal and formal grievance and disciplinary matters, attendance management, flexible working requests and any other ad hoc matters.
- Supporting managers to address attendance management issues - advising on return-to-work meetings and formal stages of the attendance management procedure as well as advising on the involvement of OH and supporting with reasonable adjustments and any other wellbeing issues.
- Working with managers to ensure the right people are recruited and deployed effectively
- Supporting managers with JRHT’s performance management processes and the delivery of change programmes through well run consultation processes

**Essential experience & knowledge required**:

- Breadth and depth of experience of working as an HR Advisor
- Experience of working operationally in a high-volume organisation, with a demonstrable understanding that a strong operational HR presence, policies and processes enable the delivery of broader people plans and ambitions.
- Qualified to level 3 CIPD (minimum) and/or significant experience in a generalist HR role.
- Demonstrable awareness of employment law and regulations and their implications for practical workplace processes and issues.
- An understanding of the financial implications of people costs and how ‘value’ is created through staffing resource
