Our Payments Practice is looking for a highly motivated, proactive yet disciplined compliance associate to provide high quality, specialist advice to our clients ranging from detailed regulatory guidance through to delivering complex regulatory implementationprojects.

We are looking for the associate to be an integral part of our successful Payments practice, supporting clients across the payment services and e-money sector as well as participating in marketing and business development, assisting with technical research,producing technical materials and supporting the delivery of RegTech initiatives.

The role provides an opportunity to contribute to the continuing growth of the Payments practice whose clients range from UK based SPIs to international EMIs providing innovative fintech solutions.

Some of the areas you can expect to assist clients include:

- Provide high quality advice and support to clients on a range of regulatory compliance matters.
- Draft and maintain policies, procedures and other compliance related documentation
- Develop training materials and assist with the delivery of training sessions and workshops
- Conduct regulatory reviews and compliance health checks
- Respond to ad-hoc and routine regulatory queries
- Support Payments related revenue growth from both ongoing support and project engagements, and by contributing to the development of new products and service offerings
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with clients, trade bodies and Regulators
- Actively seek to increase Bovill’s client base and pipeline by performing market research and identifying new prospects to target as well as leveraging existing client relationships to maximise opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling
- Actively partner with global sector teams to support and deliver on shared projects and responsibilities, where required

You will have the opportunity to attend relevant industry events to build your network and promote the Bovill brand. In addition, you will be able to participate in and, where relevant, help to present at Bovill events and training sessions, such as clientbriefings on topical regulatory issues and roundtable events aimed at compliance professionals to enable you to engage with and build Bovill’s client base.

Successful applicants will have:

- Significant compliance experience gained at payment services/e-money institutions, legal practice, consultancy and/or the Regulator
- A degree level education
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the PSRs, EMRs, PSD2 and FCA Handbook
- Good understanding of the FCA’s supervisory approach for the payment services and e-money sector
- A good understanding of the business issues and the key regulatory challenges faced across the payment services and e-money sector, including areas of supervisory focus and UK-EU divergence
- Knowledge and experience of non-UK payment and e-money regulatory regimes would be an advantage.
- A broad understanding of the regulatory and supervisory environment and an appetite to keep learning
- Proven track record of exceeding financial goals and sales targets; consulting experience would be advantageous
- Experience of translating regulatory rules and guidance into meaningful, fit-for-purpose and pragmatic solutions for clients
- A passion for solving interesting problems and have an interest in learning how to manage relationships with clients and the wider team

Given the technical nature of the work we do, exceptional communication skills and high attention-to-detail are paramount.
